A/C will not turn on
If your central A/C or air conditioner does not go on automatically, be sure the thermostat is set to “cool” and below the current room temperature. The a/c will not turn on if it is set above the room temperature.
Some things to troubleshoot:
- Go to the main electrical panel and and examine for a tripped breaker or blown fuse. If you find the problem here, you simply need to replace the fuse or reset the breaker in question.
- Make sure the furnace power switch is turned on and that the outdoor condenser’s power switch is turned on as well. This power switch is usually mounted on the outdoor unit.
- If, after these steps, the A/C still does notturn on then we strongly suggest you call an air-conditioning professional.
